Comprehensive Coronal Polish Certificate Program Description:

Course Learning Objectives:

  • Define coronal polish.
  • Explain the indications and contraindications for a coronal polish.
  • Use of abrasives and polishing agents.
  • Describe and identify dental deposits and stains.
  • Use of equipment and materials for performing a coronal polish.
  • Demonstrate the use of disclosing agent.
  • Demonstrate the positioning techniques and the action of the rubber cup on both arches and each quadrant on the facial and lingual surfaces.
  • Use of auxillary polishing aids during coronal polish.
  • Operator position during coronal polish and proper use of fulcrum during the procedure.
  • Instrument grasps.
  • Give proper oral hygiene instruments to the patient.
