CORONAL POLISHING COURSE CP129

The Comprehensive Coronal Polish Certificate Program is one of the courses offered under the iEducations Dental Assistant Training Center.


Starting January 2002, aspiring candidates for the R.D.A. must take this Coronal Polish Certificate.


Effective July 1, 2002, individuals seeking their R.D.A. license must additionally demonstrate completion of a California radiation safety course and a coronal polish course as prerequisites.


Course Learning Objectives:

  • Define coronal polish.
  • Explain the indications and contraindications for a coronal polish.
  • Use of abrasives and polishing agents.
  • Describe and identify dental deposits and stains.
  • Use of equipment and materials for performing a coronal polish.
  • Demonstrate the use of disclosing agent.
  • Demonstrate the positioning techniques and the action of the rubber cup on both arches and each quadrant on the facial and lingual surfaces.
  • Use of auxillary polishing aids during coronal polish.
  • Operator position during coronal polish and proper use of fulcrum during the procedure.
  • Instrument grasps.
  • Give proper oral hygiene instruments to the patient.

Tuition for the 12-hour course is $450. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be issued a California Dental Board Approved Certificate.
